Stirring songs that teach and inspire application of gospel principles
Written by Ronald K. King
About the Composer
Ron King grew up in Burley, Idaho and was the second of four boys born to Norman and Gwen King. During his youth, he participated in churchand family sports, church and school choirs, drama, art and ballroom dance. He learned to play the piano from his mother.
After a year of college, Ron served an LDS mission to Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon his return, he studied secondary mathematics and computer science at Brigham Young University. He married his wife Janalee in 1986 and graduated the following spring. He started teaching math at the junior high level in the fall and has taught ever since.
Ron and Janalee were blessed with five children - three boys and two girls. He has six grandchildren. His favorite callings in the Church have been teaching gospel doctrine,
elders quorum and primary.
Although he has had no musical training other than his experience playing the piano and singing in choirs, he hears the harmonies and loves the powerful emotional experiences that good music can provoke. Writing these songs has been a tremendous growing experience. He has felt the hand of the Lord in creating both the melodies and the lyrics and has basked in the spirit that has come into his life through the process. It is his hope that this music will bring the same blessing to all who listen and will help people learn and understand what we believe more fully.
